Meet the New First Foods ExperienceUpdated 5 hours ago
We’re thrilled to share that we have revamped our first foods experience in the app to include some exciting new features! 🎉Â
Our app still gives you the clarity, confidence, and tools you need to guide you and your baby through their first 100 foods, but now with some enhanced functions and features.Â
*For specific questions regarding transitioning to the new experience, please see our Transition FAQs Help Center article.Â
With your All Access subscription, you’ll get our guided introduction to baby’s 100 first foods—complete with tailored meal plans that include foods and recipes recommended by our pediatric team of experts. We suggest new foods to try that gradually build your baby’s ability to bite and chew a variety of textures—and explain exactly how to serve them to make the most of mealtime. Common food allergens are introduced along the way, with step-by-step guidance to help you build confidence with each taste.Â
Included in the Solid Starts App subscription:
Personalized HomescreenÂ
Your homescreen brings everything together in one simple view:
Plan: Build a meal plan tailored to your baby’s stage
Shop:Â Get your personalized shopping list for the week
Track: Log foods, notes, reactions, and milestones
Progress: See what your baby has accomplished and what’s up next
Your meals are featured on the homescreen, alongside articles and tips by our pediatric team for your baby's developmental stage.
Build a Meal Plan
The new First Foods Experience gives you a roadmap you can trust, but it’s also flexible enough to fit real life.Â
Start by choosing foods to introduce, recommended by our team of pediatric feeding experts. With customizable options, you can swap, shift, and shape the plan around your family’s schedule. If the plan calls for carrots but you only have sweet potatoes, you’re still on track.Â
Based on the foods you’ve selected, the app suggests meals, which you can schedule, adjust, and plan on your timeline.
Customize:Â Swap in foods you already have at home
Adjust: Add and remove meals to fit your schedule
Plan ahead: Choose your start date and plan meals ahead of time
The plan is connected to a personalized shopping list, so everything you need is right at your fingertips. Keep it in the app for easy reference, or share it with another app or by text to simplify grocery shopping and keep it stress-free (as much as possible!)
Track Progress
In the My Progress tab, get a clear picture of where you are in your baby's journey toward 100 foods and what's up next.Â
See the foods your baby has already tried, the allergens you’ve introduced, and the skills they’re building so far. Then look forward to the next stages and milestones, so you’ll always know what’s coming up.
Every meal you log is automatically saved to your Tracker, so you’ll always have a record of what your baby has tried. You can log notes, mark favorites, and record any reactions right alongside each food.
Need to share progress? You can export your Tracker to review with your doctor or pediatrician. It’s the simplest way to stay organized, spot patterns, and feel confident about your baby’s feeding journey.
Introduce Allergens
Developed with our pediatric allergist, the plan guides you through every step of introducing common food allergens to your baby.
The plan explains how to assess your baby's risk of food allergy and what to do if your baby is at high risk.
As you follow your meal plan, you’ll unlock the allergen introduction stage, which shows you exactly how and when to serve allergens in the right amounts. No matter what common allergen you choose to begin with, the plan guides you through how to cook it, how much to serve, and what to watch for once baby tastes it.
Your meal plan will also keep those foods in rotation to support ongoing exposure, a critical part of allergen introduction.
Once an allergy is ruled out, the plan suggests meal ideas to keep the food allergen in rotation, which helps prevent an allergy from developing.
Most babies do not have food allergies, but if your baby does experience a reaction to the food, you can log it and remove that food from your experience.
This way, you’ll know you’re handling this important phase with trusted expert guidance.
