Transition FAQs for New First Foods ExperienceUpdated 5 hours ago
Considering transitioning to our new First Foods Experience? You're in for a treat! 🎉
Here we'll answer all your questions as you prepare to make the leap!
Will I be forced to move to the new experience?Â
No, you will have the option to remain in the older experience, if you choose. However, we do believe our newer experience is much improved and encourage you to give it a try! More on the new experience here. We also want to assure you that if you switch to the new experience, all of your data for logged foods and allergic reactions remains safe within your tracker and will transfer over to the new experience seamlessly.Â
We do want to note that if you choose to add a new baby profile, your new baby profile, in addition to any previous baby profiles, will automatically be switched to the new experience.
What’s the difference between the old experience and new first 100 foods experience? Both experiences offer a professionally developed guided introduction of foods and common allergens, access to all of our starting solids guides and videos, 300+ meal ideas, expert-written articles, smart food and allergen tracking tools, and tips/tricks from our pros.Â
However, our new experience introduces:
Meal planning: Select foods to introduce each week, as recommended by our experts, and plan which day of the week to prep each meal. So it works for your schedule.
Stages: The plan introduces your baby's first 100 foods with distinct stages, like scoopable foods, foods to bite and chew, and foods for pick-up practice. The plan is customizable for you and your baby, and you can move at your own pace.
Flexibility: While we recommend fantastic first foods with recipes on exactly how to prepare them, you can choose to swap out foods to make it your own.
Shopping List: The meal plan generates a shopping list, which you can customize and share to make grocery shopping a breeze.
I can’t decide on whether I should stay in the old experience or transition to new. Help!
While the old experience still offers amazing guidance and support for starting solids, we do believe our newer experience is much improved and would encourage you to give it a try! The new experience allows you to view your baby’s eating progress by clearly defined stages built around essential eating skills, in addition to meal planning and shopping list features. And the good news is that you can always switch back to the old experience, so you have nothing to lose by giving the new experience a go!
Will I lose my data if/when I make the switch?Â
If you switch to the new experience, all of your data for logged foods and allergic reactions remains safe within your tracker and will transfer over to the new experience seamlessly.Â
Will I lose my data if I choose to go back to the old experience?Â
If you find the new experience is not for you, and you want to switch back to the old experience, you can do so without data loss. We’re happy to share that your data transfers seamlessly between the two experience types.Â
Can I switch back and forth between old and new experiences?Â
Yes! Click your profile icon on the main page, and then click “Version” to switch experiences. All of your data will transfer smoothly to your preferred experience. However, we do want to note that if you choose to add a new baby profile, your new baby profile, in addition to any previous baby profiles, will automatically be switched to the new experience where you will remain. Once adding a new baby profile, you cannot return to the old experience.
When moving to the new experience, will I start over? Where will I start in the new plan?
Our new experience introduces different eating stages (examples include Scoop and Mash, Dip & Bite, Big Flavors, among others) that include meals designed to help your baby build the skills needed to master that stage. When you move over to the new experience, any meal you have already completed that is a component of an eating stage will count toward the completion of that stage.Â
You will also see a certain progress percentage for each stage based on meals you have completed. To view this information in the new experience, click the “Progress” button on the main homepage and scroll to the “My Progress” section on the page. Once switching over, you will be placed in the next stage of the plan that has not yet tried enough foods to mark 100% completion.Â
I switched to new experience and I want to go back to old experience. How do I do that?Â
To easily switch back to the old experience, click your profile icon on the main page, and then click “Version: New” to switch experiences. All of your data will transfer smoothly back to the old experience. We do want to note, however, that returning to the old experience will bring you right back to where you left off prior to switching over–while any new data logged will carry over, your progress in your meals within the old experience will not reflect any specific progress made in the new experience.
How do I switch to the new experience?Â
To easily switch to the new experience:Â
Click your profile icon on the main page
Click “Version: Old” to switch it to the new experience.Â
All of your data will transfer smoothly to the new experience.

When should I switch?
It’s really up to you! There is no “best” time to switch and you can feel free to switch over at any time. Note that our new experience does include a meal planning feature, so for ease, you may want to switch when you are ready to start a new meal plan for whatever time frame works for you and your family.
I am adding a new baby profile and it’s asking me to switch to the new experience. What is it? Can I stay in the old experience?
If you add a new baby profile, the app will automatically switch you to the new experience. There is no option to stay in the old experience when you add a new baby profile. In addition, any previous baby profiles you created will also automatically be switched to the new experience. More on the new experience here.
If marking food as “tried” in database, will this reflect in new experience?Â
Yes! Any data you save in your app in the old experience, including whether a food was tried, will smoothly transfer over to the new experience. 🎉
We hope you love the new features, and if you have any questions at all, we’re here for you. Just reach out to us here. 🤍
